Tamildhool is a free video streaming mobile app that enables you to watch Indian TV shows online. This multimedia app offers various TV channels and their shows that you can watch. It mostly acts as a third-party host to different media file servers that contain the episodes of the shows. These are actively maintained, however, the app doesn’t really hold any responsibility for them and simply gives you a way to access them.

Tamildhool or TamilDhool is an Indian TV serial and show-hosting website that features media in the Tamil language. Unlike the more popular Indian TV apps that showcase the broader languages, this one is centered around Tamil and thus only offers TV channels that air with it. When you open the app, you’ll be greeted by a simple and straightforward main menu that lists all of the available channels.

There are 6 sections you can explore: Sun TV, Vijay TV, Zee Tamil, Colors Tamil, News & Gossip, and Tamil TV. The first four each have subsections you can access via a drop-down menu—Sun TV, Vijay TV, and Zee Tamil all have Serials, Shows, and Programs divided into categories while Colors Tamil only has Programs. Other than this, the main menu has a search function and you can easily see the latest updated shows displayed on the front page.

For an app, though, there’s not a lot of intuitiveness in its design. First, the interface is bland and pretty much just adopted the website’s look and feel—acting more like a web app than an actual mobile app. Secondly, the hosted videos don’t offer a lot of viewing options, like subtitles and languages. Sometimes, these don’t even have settings. Lastly, because this is a free app, expect a lot of ads on the interface.

Not really that special

All in all, Tamildhool looks like reliable enough for a free video streaming app, but it doesn’t really feel professional. There are no options for an ad-free experience like some of its competitors and the interface’s appearance can be a real turn-off for anybody. Additionally, this mobile version can’t be easily affected by an ad blocker. You might be better off using other streaming apps if you care a lot about intuitive design.
